Museum Markets at the Duck Ponds

The Markets are located in the surrounds of the Museum with Lake Alford and its parks and picnic areas as a beautifully maintained backdrop.

                       of each month. (7 A.M. to 12 NOON)

ARE HELD ON THE FIRST MONDAY OF EACH MONTH
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 The Davey-Paxman Boiler of the Colonial era, and other related historic machinery will be operating.

Depending on Volunteer availability,
 the Hammer and Forge Blacksmith at the Museum's Blacksmith's Shop
sometimes demonstrates blacksmithing creations 
 
HAMMER FORGE BLACKSMITH
 
Items of interest  can be seen and are made in the Museum Blacksmith Shop include: 
 metal brackets with a twist in the middle support rod - its  use is an underneath support for a wooden shelf, leaves which are suitable for fashion necklaces and candle stick holders, camp fire equipment of  tripods for billy cans, clothes hooks  and  tools

Miniature Train Rides
during Queensland SCHOOL HOLIDAYS 
 
Come along and enjoy a  ride on the 
miniature train, which will be operating on Mondays and Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.   Thursday is 11 a.m. only.
 (This train ride and gold panning is included in the Museum Entry Fee)
 
Please wait for miniature train rides at specified times  at the far lower corner of  the Museum Complex at Clyde's Hut (Station) near the dam.

 Also there will be Gold Panning demonstrations/tuition and  Blacksmith demonstrations on some days during the school vacation.

The Steam Festival will be held on
5 / 6/ 7  MAY 2018
(This is the Labor Day weekend in May) 

Steam engine

The 1906  Cornish boiler is fired up periodically to run the 1899 Walker winding engine, the 1907 Thompson cross compound air compressor, the Hindley powered 110V DC generator and the associated steam powered Weir, Schwage, and Evans feedwater pumps.
